The Softball Australia Cup, featuring women’s softball world No. 1 Japan, No. 11 Australia and No. 23 New Zealand, will be live streamed worldwide, with Kayo Sports securing broadcast rights in Australia and GameTime streaming the tournament globally (excluding Australia) via its YouTube channel.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced two important contract extensions with key integrity partners - Sportradar and Green Future Project. LAUSANNE, Switzerland - The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced 19 of the 20 men's baseball programmes, which will participate in the WBSC Premier12™ 2027. In its fourth edition, the WBSC Premier12 will feature a new format with the top-12 teams in the WBSC Men’s Baseball World Ranking (as at 31 December, 2025) joined by four teams from two qualification tournaments to be played in 2026.

Japanese hard-throwing right-hander Tatsuya Imai signed a three-year contract with the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB) worth a maximum of US$63 million. The deal starts at $18 million per year, with the opportunity to rise $21 million based on innings pitched, MLB reported.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) is delighted to announce that Zhongshan (Guangdong Province), China, has been awarded hosting rights for the first of two WBSC Premier12 2027 Qualifiers as the WBSC's quadrennial tournament features two qualification tournaments for the first time, with the number of participating teams increasing from 12 to 16.

The first Korea Baseball Organisation (KBO) league players have been signed under a new "import players quota rule", which was announced by KBO earlier this year. Starting in 2026, the 10 KBO clubs can add one player from other Asian countries or Australia to their roster, in addition to three import players.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and the African Higher Education in Emergencies Network (AHEEN) have renewed their partnership to continue supporting the development of Baseball5 in the Kakuma Refugee Camp and Kalobeyei Integrated Settlement in Kenya.

During the 2025 Congress, the WBSC announced the recipients of the Order of the Golden Diamond, an award that recognises individuals and organisations who have advanced the ideals of baseball/softball, and whose outstanding achievements have expanded horizons, innovation and research within our sport.
