Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)
Union Cycliste Internationale, also known as UCI, a state-owned entity based in Switzerland, was founded in 1900, employs approximately 260 individuals, and reported $79.6M in revenue as of 2024, functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer. The company specializes in spectator sports and serves as the world governing body for cycling, recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Its mission is to develop and promote cycling, in close collaboration with National Federations, as a competitive sport, a healthy recreational activity, or a means of transport. The UCI governs eight disciplines of the sport: road, track, mountain bike, cyclo-cross, BMX, trials, indoor, and para. Four of these disciplines are represented at the Olympic Games (road, track, mountain bike, and BMX), two at the Paralympic Games (road, track), and three at the Youth Olympic Games (road, mountain bike, and BMX). Additionally, the UCI promotes a number of its own events, including the annual UCI Road World Championships and a wide range of other UCI World Championships and World Cups across its various disciplines.
