News Summary:
On April 18, SuperSport committed to broadcasting all 104 matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup live on DStv and GOtv, pledging the most accessible tournament yet across Africa. Previously, on April 17, the company made the official announcement of its acquisition of the 2026 FIFA World Cup broadcast rights during a live Magesi FC and Kaizer Chiefs match. This confirmed the channel would show all 104 matches of the expanded 48-team tournament in Mexico, Canada, and the US in June and July. Canal+ subsequently clarified that this acquisition does not signal a change in direction for the production of the Betway Premiership. Earlier the same day, SuperSport, a subsidiary of MultiChoice Group, announced that DStv subscribers from the cheapest Access to the most expensive Premium tier would be able to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup in full, which kicks off on June 11 in Mexico City.
