Stan., a privately owned entity headquartered in Australia, is a tier 1 media tech buyer and a subsidiary of Nine. Founded in 2015, the company employs approximately 270 individuals and provides media and TV services. Functioning as an OTT platform in Australia, Stan delivers video-on-demand (VOD) and live sports content, including the UEFA Champions League. The company was originally founded as StreamCo Media, a joint venture between Nine Entertainment Co. and Fairfax Media.
Dan Taylor resigned as executive director of Stan on April 28, 2026, less than a year after his July 2025 appointment as part of Nine's restructure of its streaming and broadcast divisions, where he was responsible for Stan's profit and loss performance. Nine Entertainment has yet to name his successor at the streaming service. This follows his appointment on April 27, 2026, as CEO of the Melbourne Football Club, where he will replace Paul Guerra. Taylor, who already sat on the club's board as a non-executive director, will take over from interim chief executive Brian Cook in the coming months.
Stan. currently holds 42 broadcasting rights for sports competitions including combat sports, motorsports, soccer | association football, tennis and rugby union.
