News Summary:

On March 20, 2026, Singtel stated that a "small number" of customers might experience brief "inconveniences" in the coming days, following recent network disruptions for which its CEO apologized. The company provided an overview of the incidents and reiterated its apology for the service disruptions. This update followed Singtel's earlier clarification on March 19 that the March 16 outage, affecting approximately 600,000 customers, was due to a mechanical fault at one of its network facilities. Separately, about 2,000 customers experienced mobile connectivity problems on March 17 because of a software bug from a planned IT system upgrade. On March 19, the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) commenced investigations into Singtel’s mobile network disruptions between March 16 and 18, stating it would take firm action against the telco should any lapses be identified. Singtel's CEO also issued an apology on March 19 for the repeated disruptions, which included a nine-hour outage on March 16 and subsequent "momentary connectivity issues."
