News Summary:

On May 1, 2026, rising 5G adoption was noted as reshaping Singapore’s mobile revenue mix, offsetting declining voice services and stabilizing market growth through 2030. Expanding 5G penetration and higher data consumption are driving incremental value despite eroding legacy voice revenues under over-the-top (OTT) pressure. Previously, on April 30, RE:AI, the sovereign AI cloud business of Singtel Digital InfraCo, signed a strategic partnership with Mistral AI to accelerate Singapore’s AI capabilities and scale AI adoption across essential industries, including financial services, defense, government shared services, and healthcare. Earlier on April 29, Singtel Singapore launched its AI.dea program, partnering with SIM Academy to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) transition from considering artificial intelligence to deploying it. The eight-week course, designed for SMEs, is conducted in three phases with eight days of face-to-face sessions, culminating in a proof-of-concept project.
