Advanced Info Service

Advanced Info Service, also known as AIS, is a publicly owned company headquartered in Thailand. Founded in 1986, the company operates in the telecoms sector and reported $6.9B in revenue as of 2025, with approximately 2,920 employees. Advanced Info Service began as a computer rental business and, in October 1990, launched analog 900 MHz mobile phone services under a 20-year monopoly concession from the Telephone Organization of Thailand (TOT). It was the first company permitted to operate on the GSM-900 frequency and acquired Shinawatra Paging in June 1992. As of Q3 2016, the company served 39.87 million customers as a GSM mobile phone operator.
