On March 8, 2026, five teams, including the second, third, and fourth-place finishers from the 2025 IHF Women’s World Championship, secured their qualification for the Women’s EHF EURO 2026 after completing four of the six scheduled qualifying rounds. Earlier, on February 26, the federation marked 100 days until the start of the Raiffeisen Bank EHF FINAL4 2026, scheduled for June 6-7 in Budapest, with the TruckScout24 EHF FINAL4 2026 set for June 13-14 in Cologne. In February, the European Handball Federation revised its age classification for Beach Championships, designating players born in 2009 and 2010 for participation in the Zagreb championship from July 1-5, a change from the 2010 and 2011 birth years previously outlined by the Swedish Handball Federation.
