TVMnews, part of Public Broadcasting Services Malta, recently conducted the first test of a new system for live Maltese subtitles on April 9, 2026. This initiative forms part of the SaqWi project, which aims to develop an innovative dataset to further strengthen the presence of the Maltese language in the digital domain.
