OzTAM is a privately owned company based in Australia. Founded in 1999, it employs approximately 30 individuals. The company functions as the official source of television audience measurement (TAM) covering Australia’s five mainland metropolitan markets (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth) and nationally for subscription television. OzTAM owns and holds the copyright for the television audience data it delivers.
OzTAM’s latest Q1 2026 Streamscape data, released on April 29, 2026, showed BVOD and digital video continued to gain ground, indicating pressure on live broadcast TV as Australian video viewing fragments across platforms. This report coincided with the launch of a new interactive Streamscape dashboard, enabling customised analysis of Australia’s Total Video landscape for the first time. Available to subscribers, the dashboard offers flexible, personalised insights across broadcast television, BVOD, and streaming platforms through a single interface. Previously, on March 4, 2026, OzTAM released the H2 2025 edition of its VOZ Total TV Viewing Report, confirming Australians watched more than 41 hours per month across broadcast TV and BVOD viewing. The report highlighted BVOD's continued growth and its delivery of incremental reach across key demographics, noting the combined broadcast and broadcaster video-on-demand ecosystem reached 87.2% of Australians, or approximately 24.1 million people, each month.
