On May 1, 2026, Eutelsat and Station Satcom signed an expanded multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement to scale the deployment of Eutelsat’s OneWeb LEO connectivity services across Station Satcom’s global maritime fleet. This deal builds on the successful activation of hundreds of vessels on the OneWeb network in 2025, and adds a potential 1,000 further Station Satcom vessels to the existing agreement. Previously, on April 30, Eutelsat completed end-of-life operations for its longest-serving satellite, Eutelsat 139 West A, retiring the craft after more than 22 years of service. Final passivation and re-orbiting procedures placed the satellite into its graveyard orbit on April 12, 2026, in compliance with French Space Law and international space debris mitigation guidelines.
