On March 18, SES Satellites and Africa Mobile Network (AMN) expanded connectivity infrastructure across the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), increasing population coverage by 27% and now supporting over 1100 new mobile network base stations. This collaboration has connected 5.8 million people, many in rural communities, by providing critical telecommunication services. Earlier the same day, SES successfully priced €650 million of hybrid securities. This followed an announcement on March 18 regarding an extension of its tender offer. Also on March 18, SES indicated it is nearing entry into India's satellite communications market in partnership with Jio Platforms, with Jean-Philippe Gillet, president of the fixed and maritime vertical, stating that final regulatory approval is weeks away.
