On March 3, 2026, Hellas Sat, CNES, Thales Alenia Space, and Safran signed a framework cooperation agreement with France, Cyprus, and Greece to develop a next-generation optical communications system for secure connectivity. Earlier, on January 30, Hellas Sat participated in the official launch of EU GOVSATCOM, as the European Governmental Satellite Communications initiative entered its operational phase, strengthening Europe's secure, resilient, and sovereign satellite communications. This followed an announcement on December 15, 2025, when Hellas Sat and Space Compass Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding for technical and commercial collaboration on Optical Inter-Satellite Connectivity, aiming to enable cross-operator optical communication interoperability considered essential for high-speed, high-capacity optical communications.
