On June 3, 2026, Spacecom unveiled GovNet by Spacecom, a government-focused initiative designed to help nations strengthen digital sovereignty, modernize public services, enhance national resilience, and expand access to critical digital infrastructure amidst accelerating digital transformation. Previously, on April 30, U.S. Space Command announced it took operational control of a facility at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, with Space Force Gen. Stephen Whiting, commander of U.S. Space Command, making the announcement during a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This marked another step in the command’s transition from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Earlier, on April 21, personnel assigned to Space Command’s J2 Intelligence Directorate relocated to Redstone Arsenal on April 15, becoming among the first SPACECOM personnel to make the permanent move to the command’s designated headquarters. The Redstone Transition Team had established itself at the arsenal at the end of 2025 to prepare facilities and ensure an expeditious move.
