On March 18, 2026, Scripps Sports and the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) announced they will bring the PWHL Walter Cup Finals to national linear television in the United States for the first time, with ION set to telecast the Finals in May. This follows a March 12, 2026, announcement that Scripps Sports and Ally Financial partnered with the PWHL to broadcast its first-ever game on national linear television in the U.S. ION will telecast the New York Sirens vs. Montreal Victoire game on March 28, with Ally serving as the presenting sponsor for both the broadcast and the ‘Takeover Tour’ game. Scripps Co. agreed to acquire Kentucky TV station WTVQ-DT and its seven subchannels in Lexington from Morris Multimedia Inc. for $15.8 million.
