All Elite Wrestling, also known as AEW, is a privately owned professional wrestling promotion headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, with its operations based at EverBank Stadium. Founded in 2019, the company operates with approximately 80 employees and reported $23.7M in revenue as of 2023, functioning as a tier 2 media tech buyer. It is owned by the father and son duo Shahid and Tony Khan, with Tony Khan serving as president and chief executive officer. Since its inception, AEW has established itself as one of the largest professional wrestling promotions globally, ranking second only to WWE in terms of annual revenue.
Claudio Castagnoli became the first All Elite Wrestling talent to sign a dual contract with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) on March 19, with CMLL announcing the signing. Castagnoli currently holds the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship. This follows Swerve Strickland becoming the top contender for the AEW Men's World Championship on March 18 after his victory over Brody King at AEW Revolution on March 15. Strickland's pursuit was complicated by the return of Kenny Omega, prompting Strickland to seek additional power alongside a potential second world title run. At AEW Revolution on March 15 at the Crypto.com Arena, AEW World Champion MJF defeated "Hangman" Adam Page in the main event by choking him out with a chain. Earlier on March 14, Andrade El Ídolo defeated Máscara Dorada in the main event of AEW Collision in San Jose, California. AEW also announced major changes to its future pay-per-view distribution on March 14. These events were previously available on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video in the U.S., Canada, and the UK, and on Triller TV, PPV.COM, and YouTube for international fans.
