AccuWeather is a privately owned company headquartered in the US. Founded in 1962, it employs approximately 600 individuals and operates in the technology, information, and media sectors, specializing in providing weather forecasts and warnings.
AccuWeather will provide advanced storm alerts to camps and first responders in the Texas Hill Country, aiming to improve real-time alerts after the catastrophic 2025 Hill Country flooding. These new services are designed to help camps and first responders nationwide better prepare and protect communities, particularly impacting the 26 million children who attend summer camps annually across the United States. This initiative stems from AccuWeather’s partnership with the Hunt Preservation Society, announced on March 19, 2026. Through this collaboration, AccuWeather committed to supplying the camps, first responders, and the broader Hill Country community with severe weather warnings and direct consultations from its expert meteorologists as part of its 2026 philanthropic efforts.
