South Australian National Football League, also known as SANFL, is a privately owned entity headquartered in Australia. Founded in 1877, the organization employs approximately 190 individuals. Its main product involves contact sports. The company serves as South Australia's governing body for Australian rules football. Originally formed as the South Australian Football Association on 30 April 1877, it is the oldest surviving football league of any code in Australia and the 7th oldest club football league in the world.
On September 7, 2026, Norwood's Daniel Gauci won the 2026 Reserves Magarey Medal, becoming the second Redleg in seven years to claim the prize. Gauci, who finished fourth last year, polled 19 votes from 11 appearances. On September 1, the 2026 The Advertiser SANFL Team of the Year was announced, with minor premier Norwood contributing a competition-high five players. Earlier on August 30, Woodville-West Torrens secured a five-point Elimination Final victory over West Adelaide at Adelaide Oval, marking their first major round win since their 2021 premiership and their first under coach Sam Jacobs.
