On May 2, 2026, Annemarie Britz, currently the director of finance and business performance at the Central Bank of Ireland, was appointed chief financial officer with RTÉ, Ireland's national broadcaster, and is set to assume the role in the autumn. Previously, on May 1, RTÉ secured a new four-year deal to broadcast the UEFA Champions League, ensuring free-to-air coverage of Europe’s top club competition in Ireland from 2027 to 2031.
