Racing Victoria (RV) Stewards on March 17, 2026, issued two charges against trainer Chris Calthorpe as the trainer of ‘Divine Turf’ under Australian Rules of Racing 240(2) and 104(1) following an investigation. Previously, on March 9, RV Stewards issued 11 charges against registered owner Robert Stutchbury, including nine under AR 231(1)(b)(iv), one under AR 231(1)(b)(iii), and one under AR 233(a), following an investigation into the care and welfare of horses. Earlier, on March 2, RV Stewards filed nine charges (two in the alternative) against registered Stable Employee Jennifer Davis, comprising five under AR 231(1)(b)(iv), two under AR 231(1)(b)(ii), and alternatively two under AR 231(1)(b)(iii), also following an investigation into horse care and welfare. This followed the announcement on March 1 by Racing Victoria and the Victorian Jockeys Association acknowledging the passing of Australian Racing Hall of Fame member Pat Hyland at 84 after a long illness.
