NOS, a publicly owned company headquartered in Portugal, was founded in 2014 and employs approximately 3,380 individuals. The company reported $2.1B in revenue as of 2025, operating as a tier 1 media tech buyer. It specializes in telecoms and functions as a communications and entertainment group in Portugal, providing mobile and fixed telephony, cable television, satellite television, and internet services.
On July 6, 2026, Portugal's telecoms regulator Anacom approved a draft decision to renew the radio spectrum rights for Meo, Nos, and Vodafone, initiating a public consultation period that closes on August 27. Previously, on July 2, Nos announced its fibre-optic network now reaches all 308 municipalities across Portugal, encompassing both the mainland and the islands. This milestone follows a decade-long investment exceeding EUR 326 million and provides fibre coverage to more than 92 percent of Portuguese households. Earlier, on June 7, the Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC) fined telecom operators Meo, Nos, and Vodafone, alongside consulting firm Accenture, a combined €13.3 million for an anti-competitive agreement. The AdC explained that this agreement led to a concerted approach by the three largest telecommunications operators and a consulting firm, resulting in customers generally having no effective possibility of switching operators due to the simultaneous and concerted degradation of the subscription TV service, even when dissatisfied with the introduction of advertising in the recording service. On June 3, Nos signed contracts for €260 million of green financing.
