On April 22, 2026, Mediavine launched its curated audiences in Index Marketplaces, expanding its partnership with Index Exchange. Index Exchange serves as the inaugural supply-side platform (SSP) for this initiative, connecting media owners and buyers to premium inventory at scale. This follows CEO Eric Hochberger's announcement on April 1, via a LinkedIn post, of layoffs at the full-service advertising management platform. Hochberger cited the rapidly evolving landscape for creators and publishers as the reason for the decision. Mediavine currently powers more than 18,000 independent publishers.
