KT Corp. secured a contract from the National Fire Agency on March 19, 2026, to develop the Information System Master Plan (ISMP) for a next-generation integrated 119 emergency response system. This project aims to establish an AI- and cloud-based national platform to integrate fire services across regions. Previously, in late February 2026, KT, along with other South Korean mobile carriers, prepared to showcase their latest artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and unveil concrete blueprints for AI monetization at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, which was scheduled to begin on March 2. Earlier, on February 20, 2026, KT completed performance verification of a 7 GHz high-density multi-antenna technology, developed jointly with Samsung Electronics. This technology integrates multiple antennas into a single system to enhance signal efficiency and boost data throughput, and was tested in the 7 GHz band, a core frequency range under consideration for 6G.
