Huawei's Pura X Max smartphone led initial activations in China for the period of April 20-26, according to insider Digital Chat Station, per data released on May 2, 2026. On the same day, Bloomberg reported that the company is manufacturing its Ascend 910C processor, identified as its most powerful AI training chip, with plans to double production by the end of 2026. Earlier on May 2, Huawei was named a Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Backup and Data Protection Platforms for the second consecutive year, receiving a 100% willingness-to-recommend rating for its OceanProtect Data Protection product based on 241 reviews as of December. Previously, on April 30, Huawei introduced its LUNA2000-241KWH-2S1 energy storage system for Bangladesh's commercial and industrial sector at a launch event in Dhaka.
