China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK) consolidated control over HKBN on September 11, 2026, with HKBN appointing Shi Xiaoping as its chairman and CEO. This move followed China Mobile's acquisition of a 70% stake in HKBN at HK$5.23 per share, aimed at reducing HKBN's debt costs and leveraging China Mobile's telecom infrastructure. Earlier on September 11, HKBN formally announced Ms. Shi Xiaoping's appointment to its Board of Directors as Chairman, effective the same day, following the resignation of Ling Hao as Executive Director and Chairman due to other work commitments. Previously, on September 9, China Mobile Hong Kong hosted "The 3rd GTI Forum on Digital Intelligence · Hong Kong – Sub-forum: Mobile AI and the 46th GTI Workshop," co-hosted by the University of Hong Kong's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
