Xtreme Football League, also known as XFL, is a privately owned entity headquartered in the US. Founded in 2018 and operating in the spectator sports industry with approximately 500 employees, the XFL also functions as a tier 1 media tech buyer. The league is a US professional football league comprising eight teams located across the United States in mid-sized to major markets, each of which is served by at least one other major professional sports team.
The United Football League (UFL) will integrate NFL referees into its games as part of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) deal, continuing the NFL's long-standing practice of utilizing spring football as a developmental landscape, according to a June 22 report. Previously, on June 12, the UFL named Orlando Storm quarterback Jack Plummer the 2026 UFL Most Valuable Player of the Year. Plummer is the third quarterback in the league's history to earn the award, following Bryce Parker (2025) and Adrian Martinez (2024). On June 11, the UFL announced Orlando Storm Head Coach Anthony Becht as the 2026 Buddy Teevens UFL Coach of the Year; Becht assumed the head coach role after the Orlando Storm was unveiled as a UFL expansion franchise. Earlier, on June 10, St. Louis Battlehawks wide receiver Hakeem Butler was recognized as the 2026 UFL Offensive Player of the Year, making him the first player to win the award multiple times, having previously received the honor in 2024.
