News Summary:

World Lacrosse announced the pools for the Nissin Foods 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship, scheduled for July 24-August 2 in Tokyo, on March 19, 2026. For the first time at one of its championships, World Lacrosse determined these pools using a draw, a method it will also employ for other senior championships, including the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship. Previously, on March 16, World Lacrosse unveiled the official logo for the WL Women’s Championship Division II, set for July 10-18 in Wrocław, Poland, featuring 12 teams and drawing on Polish national symbolism. Earlier in March, on the 4th, World Lacrosse named PEARL as its Official Ball through a multi-year partnership with Guardian Sports that extends through 2029. This follows the January 15 announcement that the Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship will take place in Kingston, Jamaica, from August 16-23, 2026, serving as a continental qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Japan. World Lacrosse had previously awarded Wrocław, Poland, as the host for the inaugural Division II championships for women’s and men’s field lacrosse in 2026 and 2027, respectively, as part of a new championship structure with narrowed fields of 16 teams at the top level, on September 25, 2025.
