On September 1, 2026, Evan Gold joined the New York Islanders' front office as assistant general manager. Gold, who previously served as an assistant general manager with the Boston Bruins and managed their AHL affiliate, steps into this role as a key architect alongside general manager Mathieu Darche and will also run the Islanders’ AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Hammers. Previously, on August 31, David Shuman, founder of the New York venture capital firm Lateralus Holdings, acquired a minority stake in the Islanders, joining the ownership group as a limited partner. This investment does not impact the day-to-day operations or governance of the team, which remains under control owner Scott Malkin. Earlier, on August 27, the Islanders named Bryan Marshall Director of Player Performance, putting him in charge of strength and conditioning across the NHL roster, the Bridgeport affiliate, and the prospect pipeline, as General Manager Mathieu Darche continued to reshape the organization.
