These "involuntary separations" occurred alongside five voluntary separations and the elimination of 16 vacant positions, a response to federal funding cuts that resulted in a multi-million dollar budget reduction. The cuts followed President Donald Trump’s signing of the Rescissions Act of 2025, which eliminated federal funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a primary source of federal support for PBS affiliates.
