This followed Vodafone UK's donation of 5,000 SIMs to the British Gas Energy Trust on April 27, through its partnership with Centrica. Each SIM provides 40GB of mobile data and unlimited calls/texts monthly for six months. Earlier, on April 24, Vodafone detailed plans to boost network capacity for the 2026 TCS London Marathon, anticipating a 15% rise in mobile data usage compared to the 2025 event, driven by a record 1.13 million applicants. Ahead of Earth Day 2026, on April 22, VodafoneThree's Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Officer Nicki Lyons discussed how environmental action could foster resilience among UK communities, even as a YouGov poll indicated net zero has become a political battleground despite 60% public support.
