Tacoma Community College (TCC) concluded its semester on May 6 with a "Brown Bag" session focused on active learning and gamification, where Charles Wuertzer from the Biology Department demonstrated practical classroom strategies. This followed an exhibition reception on April 30 at TCC Gig Harbor for "A Woven Narrative of Identity," featuring photography by Emily J. Won, which was displayed throughout the spring quarter. Earlier in April, on the 23rd, the TCC Gig Harbor Campus hosted "Poetry in the Harbor," an evening of spoken word led by Written Communications Professor Monica Monk and featuring readings by local poets Peter Ludwin, Michael Spence, Katharine Threat, and Chris Vega. Also during April, TCC students were recognized as All-Washington Scholars, an annual honor presented to outstanding students from Washington's 34 Community and Technical Colleges at an event held at South Puget Sound Community College. Previously, on March 12, the Tacoma Community College Board of Trustees voted to advance first and second-year tenure candidates through the tenure process.
