SBB Serbia Broadband, a privately owned telecommunications company founded in 2002 and headquartered in Serbia, provides digital and analogue cable television and broadband internet services. Employing approximately 640 people, the company generated revenues of around $250 million in 2023. SBB is a subsidiary of United Group, a larger telecommunications and media provider operating in Southeastern Europe, and ultimately owned by PPF Group.
On an unspecified date, e& PPF Telecom, a joint venture between Emirates Telecommunications Group Company and PPF Group, completed the acquisition of 100% of Serbia Broadband (SBB) for €825 million. This cash-free, debt-free transaction was financed through external debt secured by e& PPF Telecom. Separately, SBB settled an ICSID claim against Serbia related to allegations of harassment from state authorities. On February 14, 2025, Fitch Ratings reported that e& PPF Telecom Group B.V.'s acquisition of SBB is unlikely to affect its rating. Another news source reported a larger, €1.5 billion deal involving the sale of assets, including SBB, by United Group to e& PPF Telecom and Telekom Srbija.
