Radiocom, also known as Societatea Naţională de Radiocomunicaţii SA, is a state-owned company headquartered in Romania. Founded in 1991, the company employs approximately 440 individuals and reported $60.4M in revenue as of 2025. Functioning as a provider of connectivity and distribution services, it operates in the fields of electronic communications and broadcasting and data transmission.
Radiocom, a Flemish company specialising in critical radio communication services, was acquired by Citymesh. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) published a framework for developing standards and radio interface technologies for the sixth generation of mobile systems (6G). The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly (RA-23) approved the framework, detailed in Recommendation ITU-R M.2160, during a meeting in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. ITU also highlighted the importance of its Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) in supporting space research and exploration, including Earth observation and climate monitoring.
