On June 25, 2026, OIV began participating in the European project HERIT ADAPT, which aims to strengthen the resilience of cultural and natural heritage against climate change and promote sustainable tourism in Mediterranean regions. As part of this initiative, OIV partnered with the Dubrovnik Development Agency (DURA d.o.o.) to implement an IoT system for monitoring microclimate conditions in the Rector’s Palace in Dubrovnik. Previously, on June 24, 2026, OIV, in cooperation with Telemach, enabled OIV DAB+ digital radio coverage in the Marjan Tunnel in Split, a key transport corridor, expanding the national digital radio network into transport infrastructure. Earlier, on August 28, 2025, OIV was named the technical implementer for a €285 million national broadband project. This project, launched by Croatia’s economy ministry, aims to expand high-speed internet to rural regions, coastal areas, and islands, supporting digital transformation, boosting regional development, and strengthening national security.

Croatia signs €285mn deal to expand broadband network to rural and island areas

Croatia’s economy ministry on August 28 signed an agreement to launch a €285mn national broadband project aimed at expanding high-speed internet to rural regions, coastal areas and islands. A government statement said the project, which is to be managed by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure and technically implemented by state-owned broadcaster Odašiljači i veze (OIV), is intended to support digital transformation, boost regional development and strengthen national security.

An addendum to the Agreement worth 13,083,503.75 Euro, which enables the continuation of the implementation of the Digitalization Project of Public Broadcasting Services in Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed in Sarajevo on September 20, 2024. It was signed by Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nimbus Innovations (legal successor of Sirius 2010) on its withdrawal from the Contract and by OIV on the assumption of all rights and obligations from the Contract on the side of the supplier.

The construction of the new OIV office building in Zadar is progressing according to plan. Work on the 2,084 m2 site officially started in March and is planned in three parts. The first phase will include the construction of an office building, storage and office space, while in the second and third phases, closed and open warehouses will be built.

The implementation of the 5G-ADRIA project has begun

In cooperation with partners Telemach Hrvatska, Telemach Slovenia, DARS and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, OIV started the implementation of the 5G-ADRIA project on January 1, 2024. The project financed under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is focused on the analysis and research of the 5G infrastructure needed to support future transport services that will be used along transport corridors in two EU member states, Slovenia, and Croatia.
