On May 1, 2026, Porsche's finance chief Jochen Breckner announced during an earnings call that the company plans to phase out the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of its Macan SUV, with production expected to end by mid-2026. Existing inventory of the Macan, which has been Porsche's best-selling model since 2015, could continue to be sold into 2027 in select markets, including the UK, as the manufacturer moves towards an electric future, while the all-electric Macan continues production. Earlier the same day, Porsche unveiled a Porsche 963 featuring vintage Apple branding for round four of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in California, paying homage to Apple on its 50th anniversary.
