News Summary:

The FIA confirmed on September 18, 2026, its agreement with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) for the promotion of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) extends through the end of 2027, addressing a report about an alleged dispute between the organizations. Previously, on August 31, 2026, Goodyear secured a long-term extension of its partnership with the FIA and ACO, confirming its role as exclusive tire supplier for the FIA WEC LMGT3 category through at least 2032, following an official tender procedure. Earlier, on July 31, 2026, the WEC unveiled its 2030 Hypercar regulations, which will adopt core LMDh performance parameters, allow for bespoke hybrid freedom, and incorporate hydrogen technology. This followed the WEC's update to its 2026 calendar on July 28, 2026, replacing planned events in the Middle East with new races in Barcelona and Monza to conclude the championship in Europe. The championship had initially scheduled the rescheduled Qatar 1812km for October 24 and the traditional Bahrain finale for November 7, after visits to Austin and Fuji in September.
