Orange Polska won a PLN 177.7 million tender from the Polish Cyberspace Resources Centre of the Armed Forces on June 23, 2026, to provide commercial GSM/LTE/5G network coverage in areas lacking commercial interest, specifically supporting the East Shield Programme. The contract, funded by the EU tool SAFE, requires the operator to provide base stations. Previously, on May 25, the company expanded its fibre-optic network coverage, enabling broadband speeds of up to 8 Gbps, to an additional 62 sites, making the service available in 112 cities and towns across the country, including Rzeszow, Zielona Gora, and Bielsko-Biala. Earlier in May, Orange Poland tested mobile data services on the 6 GHz band around Warsaw in cooperation with Nokia on May 22, utilizing a 200-MHz spectrum block to achieve a maximum speed of 3.17 Gbps, approximately double its current 5G C-band services.
