News UK Broadcasting is a privately owned company headquartered in the UK, founded in 1971 and employing approximately 2400 individuals. The company reported $125.1M in revenue as of 2024, and functions as a tier 1 media tech buyer. Wholly owned by News Corp, the company provides media and TV services, encompassing news brands such as The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, The Sun on Sunday, and The TLS. Its broadcast brands include talkSPORT, Times Radio, talkRADIO, and Virgin Radio UK.
News UK's The Times partnered with Electric Twin on April 30 to create Times ExplorAltion, an audience simulation tool built by News UK, which leverages stripped-back subscriber behavior, reader panel engagement data, and PAMCo industry data for cross-platform audience measurement. Earlier in April, on the 17th, Dale Miller was appointed Editor of The Times and Sunday Times in Scotland. Miller, 44, joined News UK in December as Acting Editor and previously held the Deputy Editor role at The Scotsman. This followed an April 14 report that News Group Newspapers, News UK's subsidiary publishing The Sun, experienced an 8% fall in revenue to £273.1m (from £296m in 2024) for the year ending June 29, 2025. The company attributed this decline partly to changes on platforms such as Google affecting traffic and advertising, as its losses grew to £53m. On April 7, News UK's latest financial accounts indicated accelerated top-line revenue growth, driven by its aggressive digital publishing shift. However, pre-tax profits remained slender due to the costs associated with funding a high-tech future while simultaneously maintaining its legacy print infrastructure.
