Latvijas Mobilais Telefons, also known as LMT, is a privately owned company headquartered in Latvia. It is a subsidiary of Telia Company. Founded in 1992, the company employs approximately 500 individuals and reported $335.0M in revenue as of 2024. LMT operates as a tier 1 media tech buyer. Functioning primarily in telecoms, it holds the distinction of being the first mobile network operator in Latvia.
On September 17, 2026, LMT announced its firewall blocked 11.5 million fraudulent calls within seven months of implementing a unified fraud solution for telecommunications operators, with 2.1 million of these calls using alternated Latvian mobile numbers. Previously, on September 2, Latvian Economy Minister Viktors Valainis stated that the caretaker government would delay the sale of shares in LMT and Tet from Telia, explaining that the current technocrat government could not make such a responsible decision and was focused on preparing the deal. Earlier, on August 23, LMT reported mobile communication disruptions affecting 3% of its customer connections, primarily in Latgale, Zemgale, and eastern Kurzeme, with the situation gradually improving. This followed LMT's confirmation on August 7 that it joined the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking's (SNS JU) Advisory Group as one of 16 entities working on 6G implementation, indicating it will lead two major SNS JU initiatives.
