This followed news from December 23, 2025, regarding a 'Under the Same Sky' matchup highlighting the continued inability of KLPGA Tour players to participate in the BMW Ladies Championship, Korea's only LPGA Tour event, which has been held in the same region for three consecutive years since 2022, moving from Gangwon-do in 2022 to Gyeonggi-do in 2023 and 2024. On December 22, 2025, the KLPGA announced it would raise the 2026 tour prize money to a record 34.7 billion won across 31 events. This increase came shortly after the KLPGA announced its '2026 18th KLPGA PR Models' on December 16, 2025, a list that included Lee Se-hee and Lee Yul-rin, selected via an online process.
