On March 10, 2026, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry directed intermediary platform Telegram to remove and disable access to 3,142 URL links. This action followed complaints from JioCinema, Amazon Prime Video, and other content owners and OTT platforms, alleging that certain channels on Telegram violated the Copyright Act 1957 by streaming unauthorized content. Previously, on February 3, 2026, JioCinema and JioStudios garnered significant attention due to the success of Ranveer Singh's film "Dhurandhar," which reportedly earned over Rs 1300 crore at the worldwide box office. Jyoti Deshpande's conviction for the film was credited for its success, further solidifying the company's presence in the production market.
