On January 20, Costa Rica’s Junior and Cadet Epee World Cups received the Ecological Blue Flag for the second consecutive year, building on the 2024 Junior World Cup recognition. Earlier in January, the FIE highlighted fencing's role in Italy, where dozens of women are using the sport to return to the piste after breast cancer.
