Hispasat and Portuguese telecommunications company NOS renewed their multi-year agreement for satellite television distribution (DTH) across Portugal and its archipelagos on December 3, 2025, consolidating an alliance of more than 20 years. Previously, on November 27, 2025, the General Extraordinary Shareholders' Meeting of Indra Group approved the acquisition of 89.68% of Hispasat S.A.'s social capital. Earlier, on June 17, 2025, Hispasat and the European Space Agency (ESA) announced an agreement to develop the initial phase of Q-Design, a project combining Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) through geostationary and low orbit satellites and terrestrial infrastructure with a consortium of 15 companies and organizations. This followed the January 22, 2025, announcement that Hispasat incorporated IOTLatam's sensors and analytics into its Tower Insight solution, which allows continuous monitoring of cellular tower status for telco customers in Latin America, Europe, and Africa through a web platform.
