News Summary:

The European Olympic Committees (EOC) and the Istanbul 2027 Organising Committee concluded the Chefs de Mission Seminar on July 2, 2026, bringing together representatives from 48 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and over 200 participants for four days of dialogue, planning, and collaboration ahead of the 4th European Games. Previously, on June 18, the 55th EOC General Assembly in Budapest, Hungary, formally backed EOC President Spyros Capralos as a candidate for the ANOC presidency. ANOC will elect a new president at its XXVIII General Assembly in Hong Kong, China, from December 7-10, when President Robin Mitchell’s term concludes. This followed the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and EOC extending their media partnership for the European Games through 2031, an agreement announced on June 17, 2026, with one year remaining until Istanbul 2027. The renewed deal reinforces their shared commitment to bringing coverage of the Road to LA28 and Brisbane 2032 to audiences across Europe. Earlier in June, the EOC served as a patron of the inaugural ACES Women & Allies Global Summit 2026, held on June 5 at the Politecnico di Bari in Puglia, Italy, reinforcing its commitment to gender equality.
