Bhutan Broadcasting Service, also known as BBS, is a State Owned company headquartered in Bhutan. Founded in 1999, it functions as a tier 1 media tech buyer, operating as a state-funded radio and television service, primarily offering broadcast television and radio programming.
On February 7, 2026, the government reported it is working to transform Bhutan Broadcasting Service (BBS) into a Public Service Broadcaster as part of a larger effort to redraft the National Information and Media Policy. This policy framework is required before issuing licenses for private television stations, plans for which were announced over a year prior. Previously, on September 25, 2025, Bhutan Broadcasting Service Corporation Limited re-invited sealed quotations for the construction of a virtual studio platform with an attached backdrop. On the same date, the corporation also re-invited bids for the supply of tires and tubes for the Financial Year 2025-2026.
