Wichita State University, also known as WSU, is a publicly owned public research university headquartered in the US, founded in 1895, and employing approximately 4050 individuals. Governed by the Kansas Board of Regents, the university offers over 60 undergraduate programs across nine colleges, providing more than 200 areas of study. As of fall 2025, the main campus enrolled 18,458 students. Its graduate school delivers over 50 master's degrees, a specialist degree in education, and 13 doctoral programs, and the institution holds an R2 classification for high research activity doctoral universities.
