It reported $285.8M in revenue as of 2025. It functions as a tier 1 media tech buyer. The company specializes in media and TV services, operating as a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) streaming enterprise in South Korea. The service functions as a domestic competitor to global streaming networks, utilizing cloud-based content delivery infrastructure, localized data analytics, and content budgets to cater to the entertainment preferences of East Asian and international audiences.
On September 15, 2026, TVing conducted personal information protection training for executives and employees, aiming to improve its system and implement continuous inspections to strengthen security awareness and practical capabilities following an unprecedented hacking incident. Previously, on September 13, President Lee Jae-myung personally intervened, raising the issue of the personal data breach involving TVing at a meeting with his senior secretaries and aides. This followed his directive on September 11, calling for strict corporate accountability after the streaming service Tving's data breach exposed approximately 40 million account records, urging the government to quickly tighten data protection obligations for both domestic and foreign companies. Earlier, on September 10, Tving faced mounting criticism and class-action lawsuits over its "inadequate" compensation plan for victims of the large-scale personal information leak, which affected about 19.53 million people. The backlash had begun as early as September 8, when Tving faced user discontent regarding its proposed compensation after 39.54 million user accounts were reportedly hacked.
