Activision confirmed new PlayStation versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II on June 18, 2026, with Treyarch and Iron Galaxy developing the ports. These titles are slated to arrive on PS4 and PS5 in July 2026, marking their first availability on native Sony hardware since the PS3 era. Previously, on June 17, 2026, Treyarch Studio Head Mark Gordon announced his departure after more than two decades with the Call of Duty studio. Gordon joined Treyarch in 2004, serving as Technology Director on Ultimate Spider-Man and Senior Director of Technology on Call of Duty 2: Big Red One's multiplayer component.
