The Arab States Broadcasting Union, also known as ASBU, is a non-profit organization headquartered in Saudi Arabia. Founded in February 1969 in Khartoum and operating with approximately 50 employees, the entity focuses on media production. Functioning as one of the oldest pan-Arab institutions belonging to the League of Arab States system, ASBU's core objective is to strengthen ties and promote cooperation among broadcasters in the Arab States for the purpose of production and content development.
On September 9, 2026, the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) announced its preparations to host the 26th Arab Radio and Television Festival from September 21 to 24, 2026, under the slogan “Where Image Pulses and Future Echoes.” This event will bring together figures from art media and the audiovisual industry, with its slogan reflecting the vitality of present images and a future media landscape shaped by advancing technology and evolving content creation. Previously, on August 31, 2026, ASBU confirmed the festival would take place in Tunis and Hammamet, Tunisia, during the same dates, noting its presence at booth S17 at the Royal ASBU Hotel in Hammamet. Earlier, on August 5, 2026, ASBU's Listening and Viewing Committee completed the review of all submitted entries at its headquarters in preparation for the festival competitions.
