Televisao Publica de Angola

Televisao Publica de Angola, also known as TPA, is a state-owned public television broadcaster headquartered at the Camama Production Center in Luanda, Angola. The entity, originally established in June 1973 as Radiotelevisão Portuguesa de Angola during the colonial era, first aired its terrestrial signal on October 18, 1975. Nationalized in 1976 as Televisão Popular de Angola, it was subsequently reorganized under Decree-Law 66/97 as a public enterprise and rebranded as Televisão Pública de Angola in 1997. Operating under the supervisory authority of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), TPA functions as the national linear television provider, employing approximately 220 individuals. The company operates three primary nationwide channels: TPA 1, which serves as the main generalist network for news and live sports; TPA 2, focusing on entertainment, youth culture, and local arts; and TPA Notícias, a 24-hour news network launched in July 2022. TPA modernized its production infrastructure to High Definition (HD) in 2022 and maintains an online portal that provides live digital streaming and social media syndication.
