Previously, on March 1, Telecom Fiji received the Infrastructure Initiative of the Year – Fiji award at the Asian Telecom Awards 2026, recognizing its successful delivery of the Savusavu–Labasa Fibre Project in Fiji’s Northern Division. On February 2, Telecom Fiji’s CTO provided context for this project, explaining that it replaced prior microwave links that offered limited capacity and redundancy, thereby improving the network's resilience against weather instability and meeting growing demand for data and cloud services.
